Palestine is perhaps the most famous of all modern cases of statelessness. What does it mean to be a national of a state without formal recognition, especially over the course of many decades and generations? We talk with historical anthropologist Ilana Feldman about the specificities of Palestinian statelessness and what it suggests about the phenomenon of nationhood and citizenship in the modern world.
